14 African Start-ups Win Big at AppsAfrica Award

Fourteen African start-ups bagged awards at the 2018 AppsAfrica award which held on the 12th of November. The award is to celebrate the best Africa mobile and tech from corporates as well as start-ups. This year’s award attracted entries from 39 countries across the continent, the ceremony held at Cape Town, South Africa.

The Award Winners hailed from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Ethiopia. More than 300 applications were scrutinised and assessed by industry experts that includes media, investors, and leaders in the tech ecosystem.

Clickatell for WhatsApp Chat Banking (South Africa) – Best Fintech Solution

Baobab Circle for Afya Pap (Kenya) – Best HealthTech Solution

Farmcrowdy for Farmcrowdy App (Nigeria) – Best AgriTech Solution

Qene Technologies for Kukulu Game (Ethiopia) – Best News & Entertainment Solution  

Custos Media Technologies for Custos (South Africa) – Best Blockchain Solution  

Hydrologistics Africa (Kenya) – Best IoT Solution

Yego Innovision (Rwanda) – Best Mobility Solution

Travelstart for Flapp (South Africa) – Best mCommerce Solution
