21 Ghanaians to Benefit From Newly Launched Huawei ICT Centre

Huawei has launched an ICT training centre at the Customer Service Innovation Centre (CSIC), Huawei’s headquarter in Ghana.

The ICT Talent Ecosystem Program is aimed at training Ghanaian ICT entrepreneurs as well as giving the industry an opportunity to improve the country’s ICT skills to meet global demand. The event kicked off yesterday, December 3rd, and will run through December 19, 2018.

The first class will commence with trainees from Huawei’s local partners, including MTN Ghana, Vodafone Ghana, AirtelTigo Ghana, IPMC and National Identification Authority (NIA), taking certification courses on IP (Internet Protocol) HCNP (Huawei Certified Network Professional), to become certified Huawei IP HCNP professional.

Huawei Ghana MD, Tommy Zhou said,

“Today, Huawei is reiterating our commitment to working even more closely with partners across the continent to better equip the next generation of technology leaders. By enhancing industry-academic cooperation, Huawei as an international ICT Company, hope to make their contribution to the ICT development in Ghana to pave the way to achieving a Smart Ghana.” –

He also added that Huawei would carry out ICT certification programs, including the Huawei ICT Academy for university students and industry practitioners, providing industry-recognized certification HCNA, across extensive ICT technologies, such as Routing; Switching, Storage, Cloud Computing, Security, and many more.

Ghana just finished the National Finals of the 2018-2019 Huawei ICT Skill Competition last weekend (1st December) with selected ICT and Engineering students from KNUST, University of Ghana, Ghana Technology University and Accra Technical University taking part.
