9 Senegalese Start-ups to Pitch at Seedstars Dakar

Nine Senegalese start-ups have been announced by Seedstars World, a leading start-up competition for emerging markets for this year’s Seedstars Dakar pitch event.

The event, which holds on September 7 will have the start-ups compete to represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland and the winning start-up will be in the running for $1-million in equity investments.

The start-ups were selected from a tourism enterprise, an off-grid energy solutions company to mobility and logistics businesses.

Selected to pitch at the competition are; cultural experience platform; Lives, identification app; Loyset, ticketing platform; mTick, entertainment platform; MusikBi and solar solution; OniriQ.

Also pitching are; Paps; urban logistics service, digital tax collection service; Townpay, public transport mapping app; Sunubus, and accounts solution for retailers Shopkeepers.

It is interesting to know that Fintech start-up, MaTontine won 2017 Seedstars Dakar.

The pitch’s jury panel comprises of veterans including; Brightmore Capital managing partner Ndeye Thiaw, Byfilling CEO Diallo Mohamed, Jumia Travel Senegal CEO Mamadou Marème Diop, Kinaya Lab founder Laïssa Mouen, and Seedstars East Africa associate Fany Dauchez will select the winners.
