The 2019 AfricaCom Awards has come to an end with ten Information Communication Technology companies bagging various awards in different categories. The award was issued during the AfricaCom Conference held in South Africa.
The 12th edition of the AfricaCom Award recognized companies that drive digital innovation across Africa and those piloting the heart of the 4th Industrial revolution. The 3-day conference also attracted over 400 exhibitors and diverse keynote speakers.

The 10 awarded companies of the 2019 AfricaCom Awards are as follows:
- Liquid Telecom- Awarded as for Connecting the Continent.
- Ericsson and MTN Group- The duo received the award for Delivering Excellence Customer Experience.
- Verimatrix – It received the award for Everything as a Service: Best Cloud or Application Solution.
- KaiOS Technologies – The company bagged the Changing Lives Award
- Telecoming – The Best Digital Entertainment Innovation Award.
- Upstream Systems- Awarded for producing Security Product or Service of the Year.
- Orange and Huawei – Recognized for providing Best Network Management Software.
- Orange – It received the Best Connected Consumer Device Award.
- SqwidNet – It was awarded as the Best Innovation for Enterprise
- Safaricom & Huawei – Recipient of the Most Innovative Service Award as The Business of Tomorrow.
Also, CTIO, MTN Group, Charles Molapisi, and the CDO Webber Wentzel, Warren Hero were awarded the Chief Experience Officer ( CXO) and Enterprise CXO of the year respectively.
A new highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of women who contributed immensely to the ICT sector in Africa. This award was issued to Orange’sSenior Vice President of Africa and the Indian Ocean, Elisabeth Medou Badang.
Also conferred in the Government Leadership Award category was the South Africa Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mrs Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams. She was awarded for her effort to break connectivity barriers in South Africa as well as for promoting a well-connected society.
