Facebook and Diamond Bank to Train 20,000 Nigeria’s Digital SMEs

As a way of fostering the market of digital businesses in Nigeria, Diamond Bank together with Facebook embarked on an initiative to train over 20,000 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.

This digital training session, which was anchored by representatives of Facebook, SheLeads Africa kicked off in Calabar with over 120 SME customers of Diamond Bank in attendance.

Mr. Nkem Okoro, the Head, Regional Businesses South in his comment said, “We are leveraging technology with SME businesses. The programme is about collaboration between Facebook and Diamond Bank. The idea behind the exercise is to give our SME customers the platform to merge their business with their Facebook accounts.”

With the over two billion people on Facebook, they would be able to showcase their products, as well as, get links that will take their businesses far and wide, he said.

It is, therefore, important to continue to support them to scale up and improve their productivity.” Said Mrs. Ayodele Olojede, Head, Emerging Businesses (SME Banking).

The training will empower business owners with the skills needed to take their businesses and products to the cyberspace.
