Oracle, a multinational technology company that deals in database software and cloud engineered systems have revealed plans to increase its tech investments in South Africa. The move was revealed by Oracle’s Product Strategy Manager, Sarah George.

The tech investment will see the launch of the Open Future Ready Labs in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mauritius, Botswana, and Namibia. These infrastructures will serve as the exhibition framework to help local industry players realize the potential of cloud technology.

The Product & Strategy Manager of Oracle in South Africa, Sarah George stated that the investment is in place to re-energize local firms and increase Oracle cloud acceptability among users.

The software company will take its users through a structured approach to help them adapt to new technologies, increase revenues accrued by local firms, improve customer satisfaction while enhancing productivity.

In addition to the above investments, the tech company will also create local data centres in South Africa.

When the project is accomplished, Oracle will have a cloud base in South Africa and will get to compete with Amazon Web Services that will launch in South Africa come 2020.
