ThriveAgric, a Nigerian crowdfunding platform which creates the opportunity for farmers to access finances for the purpose of business growth was selected for the 500 Startups Accelerator.
This is the 24th edition of the Accelerator program since inception. Winners will receive an investment of $150,000 in their startup and would also receive mentorship and hands own training from experienced minds in their field.
A number of African Startups have been accepted in the program in the past. These include Shezlong and Harmonica, 2 Egyptian startups in the 23rd batch. 3 startups from Nigeria also made it from the 22nd Batch. However, for the 24th edition, ThriveAgric was the only African Startup selected.

Since it’s public launch in 2017, ThriveAgric has experienced success, earlier selected among the 12 startups to participate in the maiden Google Launchpad Accelerator Africa Programme. Last year, ThriveAgric also received funding from the Abuja based Ventures Platform Accelerator and now, they are looking to broaden their coasts and expand to new market.
ThriveAgric helps small scale farmers raise funds and then provide it to them through different avenues, inputs, market access and Tech driven consultation. They list farms on their platforms coupled with details of what is needed to fund the units, the time duration before returns and the returns itself.
