AfriLabs appoints Rebecca Enonchong As Its New Board Chair

AfriLabs, has appointed African techpreneur Rebecca Enonchong, its new board chair. The Pan African network of organizations announced the appointment at the 4th edition of its annual gathering. The AfriLabs gathering was held at the African Union Headquarters, in October 2019.

Rebecca is a Cameroonian techpreneur, with a BSC and MSC in Economics. She bagged both degrees from the Catholic University of America.

She founded AppsTech, a global provider of enterprise application solutions and incubator for the African diaspora in the U.S, in 1999.

Rebecca currently Chairs ActivSpaces, an African Center for Technology Innovation and Ventures in Cameroon. She is the founder and Chairperson of the Africa Technology Forum, a non-profit that helps tech startups in Africa. A founding member of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN) and member of the UK Department for International Development’s Digital Advisory Panel.

The World Economic Forum awarded Rebecca the Global Leader for Tomorrow  in 2002. In 2014, Forbes named her among the top 10 Female Tech Founders to Watch in Africa. New African Magazine also named her among the 100 Most Influential Africans in Science, Tech & Innovation, while Jeune Afrique named her among the 50 Most Influential Africans, all in 2017.
