Amazon has acquired INLT for an undisclosed sum. The online market place that offers e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence services acquired the custom clearing startup in a bid to help merchants on its platform import goods to the US at lower rates.
INLT is a Los Angeles-based startup that builds software for merchants to manage cost, process custom clearance on cross border shipment, and provide a cloud-based solution for importing. The software also helps companies simplify and lower the cost of goods imported into the United States. These services spurred the acquisition by Amazon.

Amazon is also looking to expand the range of services it offers to sellers on its e-commerce platform and provide additional tools that will aid complicated cross-border sales processes.
The purchase of INLT will also make sellers on the Amazon platform understand custom bottlenecks and to bypass it easily.
INLT took to their web page to announce this acquisition. Though the acquisition has gone through, the timing and pricing of the INLT-Amazon service are yet to be announced.
