Amazon sells Pavlok, an electric bracelet that could help you deal with bad habits and create good ones. The Pavlok wristband sends a 350-volt electric shock every time it recognizes a programmed bad habit.

Pavlok can be used to break bad habits like smoking, biting nails, junk food addiction, drinking, excessive sleep, etc. According to one study, 75% of smokers who used Pavlok quit smoking in just 10 days and were still smoke-free after 6 months.

How it works

Download the app and choose habit or use the manual mode for unlisted habits you want to break. Pavlok integrates with sensors, motion trackers, digital data and GPS to keep you on track with your goals. The sensors learn from your actions and online activities to understand your behavior. It comes with a mobile app to adjust the device settings and access habit breaking courses. You can also access support from the Pavlok community and track your progress on the app.

The bracelet is ‘one size fits all’ and comes in different colors. Within it lies a rechargeable battery, electronic components, and Bluetooth. There are 150 shocks available per charge of the device.

Pavlok was invented by Maneesh Sethi out of his addiction to social media. He claims that you will notice a significant reduction in cravings within 3 to 5 days of wearing the device. The bracelet sells on Amazon for $242 (£193.62).
