PayPorte— Nigerian e-commerce platform has announced the relaunch of its website, months after shutting down. It was relaunched earlier in the week with a unique and modern design. They built the new website from scratch based on customer feedback, and it will be focused on accessories and fashion products.

Eyo Bassey, CEO, PayPorte, said they are excited about the newly redesigned website. He said that the updated version is better than the old site released last year. He said the new site will offer greater shopping experience to their customers and that they plan to continue providing customers with top quality products that meet their fashion and lifestyle needs.

PayPorte shut down their website due to some setbacks in 2018. There were speculations that the company has gone bankrupt, considering that former staff members alleged on Twitter in November 2017 that they haven’t been paid salaries.

PayPorte, however, denied the allegations but shut down their website sometime after. Prior to the shutdown, the company stopped selling products like phones or books but stuck to fashion items and accessories. Eyo Bassey, PayPorte’s CEO insists the shutdown was simply a result of strategic decisions by the company to improve the website.
