Jumia City Partner Program ,the company’s new eCommerce platform program provides young people in Kenya with the ability to earn up to $1000 a month.

In Africa, Jumia hires 5,000 people and operates a platform that serves hundreds of thousands of vendors, sales agents, and logistics partners.

Jumia has launched the ‘Jumia City Partner Program’ in the Western, Mount Kenya, Nyanza, Western, and Coastal regions, with the aim of creating economic opportunities for the youth.

The goal is to motivate local businesses by increasing sales and enhancing customer service.

In a scheme that will help businesses in rural areas gain extra income when working as Jumia representatives in those areas, PUS agents will assist customers in placing orders online on the e-commerce website.

Thousands of university students have signed up to work as Jumia Independent PUS agents.

Through supplying products to local schools, markets, and community organisations, they are also assisting in the education of rural communities.

According to the most recent census, 80% of Kenya’s population is under the age of 35, with over 800,000 young people joining the workforce each year.

Unemployment affects 5,341,182 people, or 39% of the total youth population of 13,777,600.

Despite the economic growth of the last decade, the majority of new jobs are low-paying and casual, and they are not fast enough to absorb the growing number of job seekers.
