Having been in a beta mode for 12 months, uLesson plans to launch officially in February 2020 across; Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.

Aside from expanding, uLesson intends to leverage the seed fund to develop educational content as a product for the East African market.

According to uLesson’s CEO Sim Shagaya, the platform intends to reduce the entry point for access to education for young Africans. He stated that the only way to achieve that is via technology.

In his words; “we work collaboratively, passionately & relentlessly, utilizing every tool available, to deliver high-quality affordable education to all Africans. Education, Financial Inclusion & Health need to be tackled on the continent.”

uLesson currently focuses on core subjects; Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for secondary school students.

TLcom’s executive team, Ido Sum and Omobola Johnson will join the uLesson board as part of the funding deal.
