Solarise, a clean energy, and energy efficiency leasing company based in Kenya has secured an undisclosed Series A funding to scale across Africa.

Solarise was founded by Patrik Huber, Jan Albert Valk, and Sakkie van Wijk to focus on solar and other energy assets. The company targets commercial and industrial clients (C&I).

Solarise provides smart financing through a group of partners. They raised their first Series A funding in October 2018, in a round led by smart infrastructure investor EAV. EAV has reinvested in the company again alongside the European Union-funded ElectriFI.

According to Jan Albert Valk, Solarise Co-founder, they are excited to partner with two leading organisations in the industry. He mentioned that the future of Africa’s business and C&I sector relies on solar energy.

In his words; “We are pleased to partner with two industry-leading organisations. Sustainable energy solutions are crucial to driving development in Africa, lowering the carbon footprint, and providing access to safe and affordable services across the continent. The future of Africa’s business and C&I sectors relies on solar power. Sustainable energy solutions are the obvious choice if Africa is going to overcome the energy hurdles it currently faces.”
