Two new patents have reportedly been patented by Apple that will allow the upcoming MacBook to charge Apple devices wirelessly.
One of the patents addresses the two-way charging feature that enables users to charge their iPhone, iPad, AirPods, or Apple Watch simultaneously through the MacBook.
First noticed by Patently Apple, the patents contain sketches showing a MacBook that charges different items, including an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, as well as drawings of iPads and iPhones that do the same, according to The Verge.
The patents state that “despite having standardized connectors and cable(s), each device may require a separate or dedicated power supply to charge.”
As of now, as they are made of aluminum, MacBooks, and iPads are not compatible with wireless charging.
At the moment, MacBooks and iPads are not compatible with wireless charging because they are made out of aluminum.
