The 4th cohort of the Google global accelerator program, launchpad has raised $4.3 million. They also created 300 jobs in Africa. The $4.3 million funds were raised collectively by the 12 startups that participated in Google Launchpad Africa.
Founded in 2017, Launchpad seeks to help startups scale their products. They do this by matching them with the best of investors, networks, and advanced technologies. The program currently graduated in its 4th edition and has its focus on developing AI solutions in Africa.

Before their participation in the 4th edition of the accelerator program, the 12 startups had raised $600,000 fund collectively. They, however, have more funds at their beck and call now with the recent $4.3 million funds.
According to Olatunji David, the Programme Head, Startup Success and Services, Launchpad Accelerator Africa, the accelerator program is sponsoring Africa startups that can solve Africa’s Problems. The startups provide a solution that can be used to combat typical challenges in fintech, education, and the agro sector.
Also, in a bid to celebrate the 4th Africa launchpad cohort and open the floor for more investment to startups, Google hosted its first Google startup week in Lagos. The event serves as an avenue for cohorts to pitch their ideas to top Venture Capitalists from the UK.
