Google is looking to roll out Smart Screenshots, a feature that will enable online users to easily search for stuff. The screenshots will be taken via Google Lens, a new feature alleged to be part of its 10.61 Android apps.
Google has two screen features namely; ‘Edit and share screenshots’ and the ‘What’s on my screen’ feature, powered by AI. Google, however, intends to pair these two features and roll out the smart screenshots feature.
Initially, when you take a screenshot, you get the opportunity to either share or edit it. But with Smart Screenshots, after you take a screenshot, a toolbar pops up and showcases Google Lens. Just by selecting Lens, users can perform a search, do optical character recognition (OCR) or find visually similar items of the screenshot taken.

The initial google toolbar options for Cropping, Editing, and Annotating might remain the same, regardless of the Smart Screenshot feature.
Google is yet to announce when the new feature will be rolled out. They didn’t mention if the option will be restricted to screenshots taken via Google Search or not. However, it is speculated that the new feature might replace the common screen searches and pave way for a swifter and more seamless experience.
