Drum Roll! Google has unveiled new products! Yes, they unveiled new products at the third edition of the Google for Nigeria Event. They unveiled products like; Come Chop Bellefull: A Taste of Nigeria, Google Lens feature and Bolo App, Gallery Go etc. and added a few modifications in the Google map. This will interest retail stores in Uganda and Rwanda, you know why? Kenyan-based Sokowatch, a B2B e-commerce platform has expanded to Rwanda and Uganda. Sokowatch is a B2B e-commerce platform which supply’s to informal African retail stores. Interesting right?

Also, WiSolar– a South African and Nigerian-based Solar-as-a-service company has announced plans to launch its prepaid decentralized solar products across Africa. The company is looking to roll out its solutions for mass adoption across communities in Nigeria and South Africa by the third quarter of 2020. What do you think?

PayMate—an Indian B2B payment company, has secured $25 million funding. The company plans to leverage the funds to expand across India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The funding was led by Recruit Strategic Partners, Brand Capital, and existing investors –Mayfair 101, and Visa.

Finally, global digital money transfer company ‘WorldRemit’ has partnered MFS Africa—a digital payment hub to launch a P2P mobile money service across, Niger, Malawi, Madagascar, Mozambique and Guinea. Mobile first users can now send money from the comfort of their homes.
