GreenTec Capital Partners, a Frankfurt based venture capital firm has announced the launch of the GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation- an NGO that aims to promote investment in African entrepreneurship. The Firm said the foundation will be led by CEO, Thomas Festerling- as they intend to create economic and social-added value.
The Foundation will work closely with the continent’s entrepreneurship community, public and private institutions, as well as European and African investors and corporates. Investors and companies will benefit from shared knowledge and expertise on investments in African entrepreneurship through partnership with the foundation. “Moreover, the GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation organically collaborates with public and private institutions to fulfil joint missions, improving time-to-impact ratios through strengthened partnership contributions,” the firm said.

CEO Festerling said it is crucial to have the right knowledge, the right partners and local as well as global visibility- in order to investor receive investment. He also said that the foundation will create an environment where all of this is accessible to entrepreneurs, investors and established companies.
“We know the pitfalls and ways to navigate these through our experience gained at GreenTec Capital Partners. We are open to collaborate with organisations who see the value in the approach we are taking and are willing to make a long-term difference,” he said.
GreenTec Capital Partners is a Firm that invests in African start-ups and SMEs with a focus on combining social and environmental impact with financial success. They have a mandate to maintain at least 75 percent impact focused enterprises and aspire to grow 400 companies by 2023.
