Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge is a global startup competition for promising early-stage projects & startups, who leverage technology to solve the world’s challenges. It is calling on African startups to submit applications for its 6th edition.

The challenge was founded in 2013 by Ph.D. students, Xavier Duportet and Arnaud De La Tour, in a bid to support evolving technologies. The competition helps scientists and deep-tech entrepreneurs across the world with a platform to groom their research and projects. Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge provides participants with equity-free funds, connections with major players in deep tech innovation network, and global prominence.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants will be required to build projects across the following 14 tracks: Medical biotech, Digital Health & Medical devices, Drug discovery, Food & Agriculture, Industrial Biotech, Energy, Environment, Advanced computing & AI, Cybersecurity & Communication, Industry 4.0, Smart City, Mobility, Aeronautics, New Space.

Submission to the challenge is free but participants are, however, required to provide proof of concept, a prototype, scientific validation of their claims or proof to indicate that they are working towards procuring one.

It is important to note that projects that are not yet incorporated will not be accepted. And finally, ensure that they are solving an industrial, societal or environmental challenge.

Hello Tomorrow will select and invite about 500 applicants for the competition. The applicants will have access to meet with sector-specific and invite-only investors, top executives, accelerators and fellow founders. The applicants will also have one-on-one meetings with over 200 top-tier Venture Capitalist and over 100 international corporates, a day before the Summit.

Applicants will be judged across four strong criteria, which includes; innovation, potential impact, leadership, and viability. Six finalists will be selected per track, totalling 80 finalists who will have the opportunity to pitch in front of up to 400-select audience for the €10k per track prize. The grand winner will win a whopping sum of €100k.

Applications close on the 13th of September 2019, whilst the Grand Finale will hold on the 11th&12th of March 2020, during the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit, in Paris. Interested? Apply here
