IHS Towers, a telecommunications infrastructure company in Nigeria is set to acquire Brazilian telecoms and infrastructure company Cell Site Solutions (CSS). The company will be acquired from Goldman Sachs and Centaurus Capital LP for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is part of IHS’s strategy to become the leading owner, operator, and developer of shared telecommunications infrastructure in emerging markets.
IHS is a mobile telecommunication infrastructure company that offers collocation and the lease of telecom mast, construction of towers. The company also purchases and leases network operators towers to telecom companies.

The acquisition will, therefore, make IHS the leading owner, operator, and developer of shared telecommunication infrastructure in emerging markets. It will also help the company expand its service to Latin America Countries.
The Chairman and CEO IHS Towers, Sam Darwish, noted that the acquisition was birthed from Brazil’s topography and compact urban areas. This recent economic upturn provided a running ground for favorable macroeconomic factors and the deployment of 4G and 5G networks.
Although the acquisition is currently awaiting approval, when gone through, IHS will control a major stake in Brazil’s telecoms sector.
The company will also manage over 2,290 towers owned by CSS in Brazil and Colombia.
