Internet Solutions — an Internet services provider for public and private sector organizations has provided KES20 million to set up a Cyber Threat Intelligence Centre (CTIC) in Kenya. Companies will leverage this facility to monitor, analyze and fight cyber threats.
Kenyan and African companies will leverage the CTIC to develop an active cyber resiliency and risk-based strategy, which will detect, prevent and respond to cyber-attacks within their IT surroundings.
Internet Solutions plans to invest an additional KES30 million to expand and also hire more cybersecurity engineers by 2020.

With the rise of coordinated and sophisticated cybercrimes, companies must take active measures in preventing potential financial, reputational and operational loss they might face. Early detection is highly important for the safeguarding of IT assets.
The CTIC will leverage its cross-industry expertise to provide a real-time cybersecurity service for each company in need of its services. The understanding of business risk with knowledge of the potential attacker plays a crucial role in preventing cyber-related financial or reputational damage.
