Jumia partners Vivo Energy to Deepen Services Across Africa

Jumia, an African e-commerce giant, has partnered with Vivo Energy—a retailer and distributor of Shell and Engen-branded fuels and lubricants to deepen their services across Africa. They intend to develop a series of initiatives that will offer additional services to customers in countries where Jumia and Vivo Energy operate.

Vivo Energy has a network of over 2,100 service stations in 23 countries in Africa. The company offers retail services for fuels, lubricants, card services, shops, restaurants and other non-fuel services. It offers its services across sectors like marine, mining, construction, power, transport, and manufacturing. The platform employs around 2,700 people, with access to over 1,000,000 cubic metres of fuel storage capacity.

Omar Benson the Vice President of Retail, Quick Service Restaurants, Convenience Retail, and Other non-fuel Retail, at Vivo Energy said they are delighted to partner with Jumia to develop and implement their initiatives. The partnership will help them better serve customers who are rightly demanding newer and faster ways of accessing their products and services.

The Jumia, Vivo Energy initiative aligns with Vivo Energy’s plan to deliver innovative and convenient solutions to customers. They plan to achieve this via their non-fuel retail offer and by leveraging the value of their retail network.

Through the partnership, Vivo Energy’s retail service stations will be used as pick up and drop off points for customers. This will grant customers the opportunity to pick up or return online orders made via Jumia’s digital platform.  Also, Jumia’s customers will have the opportunity to place orders and pay at designated service stations.
