Kenyan based startup Sokompare launched its awaited peer-to-peer marketplace for cars. The platform allows users to buy, sell, insure, and finance their vehicles more easily.

Viral Shah, CEO and co-founder of Sokompare said that their new P2P marketplace just finished up with its beta testing stage and is ready to officially be launched.

The company showcases major car makes such as Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, BMW, Porsche, Jeep, Isuzu, Ford, Benz, Mazda, Peugeot, Honda, Audi, Jaguar, and Volvo.

The body types of the cars in their showrooms include SUVs, hatchbacks, pick-ups, sedans, and station wagons.

Sokompare has already acquired over 150 car dealers and lists around a total of 7,000 cars on their platform.

Viral Shah expresses, “We offer better services, such as special offers and price comparison, while we are also building a trusted seller portal for the more risk conscious users. We will also offer live insurance comparison within the next couple of weeks, and we are already offering financing opportunities.”

The startup has already raised a sufficient, but an undisclosed amount from
Strategic angel investors. Shah, himself, also boasted that his board advisors were “world class.”

Although the startup is by far only operating in Kenya, they plan on spreading out further into the East and West African markets within the next seven years.

Viral Shah says that the progress so far has been extraordinary. Their platform will continue to change and grow in a positive direction.
