MainOne submarine cable is now live in Cote d’Ivoire. The cable will enable MainOne to increase spectrum capabilities, deepen infrastructure sharing and lower the cost of broadband services in the region.
Earlier in October, we shared a report about MainOne expansion to Cote d’Ivoire, having received a landing license from the Cote’d’Ivore government.

The company, therefore, utilized the license to lay its submarine cables in the country. The launch of the submarine cable made MainOne own the first commercial cable system in Cote d’Ivoire.
The submarine cable will enable MainOne to provide customers with maximum uptime performance through an increased bandwidth capacity. It will also help users to connect directly to various regional and global Internet Exchanges points. Like Nigeria IXPN, Ghana GIX, London LINX, and Amsterdam Internet Exchange AMS-IX.
The Regional Executive MainOne, Mr. Kazeem Oladepo noted that the cable will contribute to Cote’d’Ivore’s economy and serve other telecom providers world-class connectivity solution and data center expertise.
