Myjob.com is a Malawian startup that focuses on online recruitment. Since its launch back in 2014, the startup has gained a total of 41,000 subscribers and 500,000 unique visitors.

After three years of market testing to improve their platform, they have now shifted to a commercial push phase. They had support from Malawian tech incubator mHub. The startup aims to become the biggest resource for online recruitment.

There have been over 11,200 different jobs advertised on the platform by 330 employers. Many training providers have also shown a great interest in the services that the platform offers.

Those seeking employment have even relied on the premium services that the platform offers. One of the most used services being provided would be the assistance offered when making a CV.

The startup is eagerly seeking investors, as it has only been funded by its founder, Kondwani Mwangulube. Some of the platform’s services will be offered for free or at a discount during the upcoming test period.

With both the platform and structural model complete, the startup is now planning to shift into a commercial phase. The startup will be focusing on maximizing their profits through several channels.

These channels include: online job advertising, pre-vetting staff, CV services, and reference checks.

Mwangulube said, “Speed, low cost, flexibility and reach are among the most common factors cited by recruiters when considering online job advertising or recruitment. Employers advertising on Myjobo.com have reported receiving applications within 15 minutes after a position appeared on the website. That shows how effective and trustworthy our job site is.”

This new transition into a commercial phase reflects the ever-growing value that employers see in Myjobo.com.
