This year’s African App Launchpad Cup will be hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology alongside ITIDA, and registration is now open to early-stage firms and entrepreneurs.

MCIT will give up to $72,000 in prize money to the winners of the two competition tracks: application development and game development.

With this competition’s third and final iteration, tens of thousands of African youngsters have been effectively trained, and 75 startups from 22 African countries have received support in return.

IBM will assist startup companies and next-generation developer communities in gaining access to a wide range of IBM data and AI advancements, as well as IBM’s hybrid cloud approach.

This will encourage innovative thinking, differentiated solutions, and a faster time to market. IBM will also be a member of the judging panel that selects the best-performing contestants and provides support and technical advice to the winners.

With the African App Launchpad presidential initiative, which aims to enhance over 10,000 African youth’s skills and abilities while also providing support for 100 African businesses working on digital applications and games, the competition will be run by the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), a partner of ITIDA.

The deadline for the application is 31st October 2021.
