Microsoft has recruited 50 Engineers for its Africa Development Centre in Nairobi. This is in tandem with its mission to build a new generation of developers in Africa and the Middle East.
The African Development Centre (ADC) in Kenya was launched earlier this year and seeks to listen to the African market, develop locally fit products and attain global impact.
The center will develop technology that drives Fintech, Agritech and OffGrid Energy in Africa. The recruitment of computer science engineers is the first phase to achieve this feat.
The launch of ADC will aid the development of new generation developers who have multinational expertise and international experience useful to the African community and businesses.

The Microsoft General Manager for Africa and Middle East General, Ibrahim Youssry has lauded the recruitment. He stated that the company recruits the best hands to work on developing indigenous tech products and will open a second Africa Development Centre in Lagos before the end of the year.
Microsoft is currently on the lookout for more talents with Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality knowledge to join its team as they invest $100million in the two centres over the next five years.
It will also partners with local universities in Africa to create a modern intelligent edge and cloud curriculum unique to the country.
Graduates from top African engineering universities will have access to the ADC where they can build relevant and meaningful careers in data science, AI, mixed reality, application development and more.
