Eventplanner.ng is a Nigerian startup that was launched in the middle of last year. The startup connects people who are hosting events such as birthday parties and weddings to caterers, decorators, DJs, and other suppliers.
Customers are thus able to plan their events entirely online as they are given the access to a wide range of event vendors.
Even though the company is still in its early stages, it already has 350 vendors listed. There have also been roughly 85 service requests via their platform.
So, how does the startup currently make revenue? The startup charges the vendors a percentage of every successful transaction that are made through the company’s platform. The platform also incorporates simple booking and payment methods.
Amaka Epoh, the founder of Eventplanner.ng, said, “I discovered there was a void to be filled in this event space. In a space worth US$20 billion in Nigeria, there is still anxiety in planning events due to difficulties in sourcing for vendors within your location, and the price.”
The demand for a platform that brought together all the vendors required for planning an event online. The platform provides the easiest and cheapest way to book event-related services.
Eventplanner.ng has competition in the Nigerian market, but their constant growth and innovative moves are what will continue to differentiate them apart from their competitors.
The self-funded Eventplanner.ng is looking for healthy investors to help its growth scale. The startup plans on expanding to Ghana by next year without the consideration of receiving any investment.
