To bridge the language barrier between rural and urban settlers, farmers and their traders in Africa— Nigerian developer, Gabriel Emmanuel has developed a language translator platform ‘OBTranslate’.
The language platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to translate over 2000 African languages. The OBTranslate platform will be built on the existing structure of OBTalker, the initial messaging app of the developer that is similar to Whatsapp and Telegram. OBTalker is a cloud-based messaging platform that supports voice and video calls. OBTalker supports text to speech feature and is capable of translating into 26 languages.

OBTranslate however offers a bigger reach with more languages in its portfolio. With thousands of ethnic groups in Africa each speaking different languages and dialects, OBTranslate looks to simplify things for Africans.
The German based developer and CEO OpenBinacle said, their goal is to break language communication barriers in rural and urban areas in Africa. According to him they want to enable self-driving cars, smartphones, linear robots and wireless technology communicate and interact with Africans in their dialects.
The OBTranslate platform has not been launched yet and information on the launch has not been released. The company revealed that OBTranslate is still in its beta stages and will be available on all platforms soon.
