Orange Telecom plan to sell off its business in the Niger Republic has gone through. The telco sold its company to Zamani Com S.A.S company. 

 

Earlier last month, we informed you about Orange’s plan to sell off its business in Niger over exorbitant tax charges and disputes. The company has, therefore, achieved this sale and is out of the telecom market in Niger.

Orange Telecom Niger division sold 95.5% of its stake to Zamani Com S.A.S, a minority shareholder of Orange Telecom. Mohammed Rissa of Rimbo Invest and Mr. Moctar Thiam of Greenline communications owns Zamani.

 

In a statement released by Orange, the telco noted that the company’s services will continue to be marketed under the Orange brand’s name within the transition period. 

 

We are optimistic about the sales of Orange to Zamani. We hope the new telecom owners will make concise decisions that will keep them afloat in the telecom market.
