Have you heard? Pan-African network provider MainOne has expanded MDXi Data Centre to Accra, Ghana. This new facility will attend to the demand for colocation and interconnection services for businesses that seek shared service facilities for ICT resources.
We have news that MaxAB—an Egyptian B2B e-commerce marketplace has secured $6.2 million funding. The platform intends to leverage the funding to foster cross-border expansion in Egypt and North Africa by 2021.
There is also news that TemTem, an Algeria-based ride-hailing startup has secured $4 million funding. The startup will utilize the funding in scaling marketing campaigns, recruiting top talents and diversifying its products.
Also, Econet Group, a diversified telecommunications company is launching electric vehicles through its ride-hailing startup, Vaya in Zimbabwe. The vehicles will first launch in Zimbabwe and 2 other countries before expanding to 10 others in 2020.
Finally, Amazon has acquired INLT—a custom clearing startup. This acquisition is for Amazon to help merchants on its platform import goods to the US at lower rates. Amazon will also expand the range of services by providing tools that will aid in complicated cross-border sales processes.
