Pan-African Network Provider MainOne expands Its Data Centre to Accra

MainOne— a leading provider of telecom services and network solutions for businesses in West Africa is expanding its data centre ‘MDXi’ to Accra, Ghana. The new facility will be based in Appolonia City and will be fully ready in the fourth quarter of 2020.

The centre will tend to the demand for co-location and interconnection services for businesses in need of shared service facilities for its ICT resources.

Customers will leverage MDXi’s network of customers, partners, suppliers, high-level availability and rich connectivity to ensure a 24/7 online delivery of services. They will achieve this, by hosting their infrastructure on MDXi.

MDXi’ Data Centre features private data centre suites, precision cooling, safety, and fire suppression systems, cooling and security infrastructure, enterprise-grade 24×7 multi-level security and video surveillance.

The Centre will offer direct access to MainOne and other submarine cable systems in Ghana and open access connectivity to all telecom networks. It will also offer access to various Internet Exchanges like; the GIX (Ghana), IXPN (Nigeria), LINX (London), DECIX (Frankfurt/Lisbon), and Cote d’Ivoire Internet Exchange (CIVIX), as well as the West Africa Internet Exchange (WAF-IX).

According to Kazeem Oladepo, Regional Executive, MainOne is committed to providing broadband infrastructure solutions across West Africa. He stated their excitement to invest in support of the digitization journey of their customers through the new data centre facility.
