Uber—an American ride-hailing giant, has partnered with Cargo, an e-commerce platform, to launch a new shopping app. The app will be available for download for Uber riders on trips with cars that has Cargo consoles on-board.
The feature items on the app will be curated by Uber. The items will be products like; Nintendo Switch, Away luggage, Apple hardware, Glossier cosmetics etc. The app will provide in-ride entertainment like movies from Universal Studios from $5-$10 each, to be viewed on the app.

Riders will be rewarded with a 10% discount of their purchases in Uber Cash which they can use on their future trips or for new purchases on the Cargo app. Whilst riders will be gifted 10% discount, drivers will be gifted a 25% discount on all their purchases from the Cargo Box in-car. New users will receive an additional 1 dollar.
The app is available for download via the iOS or Android app. After downloading, riders are required to scan the QR code located on the Cargo Box in their driver’s car. This is because the Cargo app only permits purchases made on transit. Once done, the item will be automatically shipped to the rider’s home address for free. The delivery date is estimated between two-five business days depending on the distance.
