See the Two Nigerian Startups selected For Shell Global Innovation Prize

Two Nigerian startups, FarmToJuice and Foods Nig Ltd. and Basiled Energy Ventures have been selected alongside 21 others, as the finalists of the Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators Awards. The shell Global Innovation Prize rewards businesses that showcase excellence in innovation. 

 

FarmToJuice and Foods Nig. Ltd is a startup that produces juice, processes waste into livestock feed and leverage biogas digester to provide energy. On the other hand, Basiled Energy Ventures provides solar lamps, solar installation, maintenance and repair, and solar battery recycling services.

LiveWIRE is a youth enterprise development program that was launched in 2003. It provides training and finance to young people which enables them to build and scale businesses. LiveWire helps young entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses that create employment and generate opportunities.

The shortlisted businesses will be uploaded on the Shell LiveWire website to enable public voting. This phase will run from the 9th—to the 18th of September 2019. Afterwhich the winners and two runners up will be selected across the Food & Agriculture, Energy & Mobility, and Sustainable Future, categories. The winners will receive $20,000, while the runners up will receive $10,000 respectively. The Shell LiveWIRE will also award the Outstanding Achievement Award winner who with $10,000.

The Top Ten Innovators will receive direct mentoring from Shell staff and gain access to Shell’s global network.
