Seedstars​ in partnership with the DOEN ​Foundation – a Dutch fund supporting green initiatives, calls on applicants to submit applications for the DOEN​ Land Restoration Prize. They will leverage the competition to select and award startups in the land restoration and land degradation space.

The firms see the need to leverage land restoration in response to the poor management of land. The application is open to startups with innovative ideas that will restore degraded lands. Startups leveraging big data and technology to reverse land degradation. Also, startups with water-saving soil technologies and focus on improving livelihoods and communities can apply.

Interested startups will build solutions that can restore forests and landscapes, and also reverse the degradation of soils, agricultural areas, forests and watersheds. These solutions will help lands to regain their ecological functionality.

Both tech-enabled startups and businesses who can show a clear innovation component are open to apply. Interested startups should be less than 4 years of existence, have a Minimum Viable Product which is scalable, and show clear environmental and social impact.

The winner will be granted 9 months access to the Seedstars Investment Readiness Program—a hybrid program that challenges traditional acceleration models, just by creating a unique mix to improve startup performance, whilst getting them ready for funds. The startup will also receive a $10k grant.
