British security software and hardware company Sophos announced a new feature ‘Intercept X’ for servers with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). IT managers will leverage this feature to fight cyber attacks against servers.

In recent times, cybercriminals have leveraged recent technologies to boost their human hacking skills against servers. They use bots to identify their potential victims. Once they identify a target, they use their wit to choose victims either by their intellectual property ranking, access to other servers or their ability to pay the ransom. The other steps after this are manual.

According to Mr. Schiappa, chief product officer of Sophos, most malware is automated which makes it easy for attackers to leverage on the weak security of organizations and use hand-to-keyboard hacking techniques to cause havoc.

However, through Sophos Intercept X, IT managers of all business types can now have access to the whole server. This access will grant them access to detect attacks faster, understand the impact of the attack and visualize the full attack history. This will grant them access to resolve the issue faster.

Mr. Schiappa, said, when regulators depend on digital forensics as evidence to lost data, they will also rely on the same forensics to show their data was not stolen. And Sophos Intercept X for EDR server provides the required insight and security intelligence.
