South African Parents to Track Scholar Transport Vehicles with LocTransie

In a bid to grant South African-based parents to track their wards who are onboard scholar transport vehicles, IT entrepreneur Tshidi Morabi has launched a mobile app called ‘LocTransie’.

LocTransie grants parents access to not just track the scholar transport vehicle (transportation that conveys school children to school and back) in real-time, it also grants them access to compare prices with other scholar transport vehicles in the district, and also provide parents with SMS notifications at intervals during the journey.

LocTransie, coined from Location and transportation, aids in curbing the chances of swapping children from different vehicles without their parent’s prior knowledge. The app keeps parents in the know of possible delays or detours during the course of the trip. It also allows drivers to notify the parents in the case of an emergency through push notifications.

LocTransie also ensures that schools are accountable for kids under their care. This is achieved through their signing-in and signing-out feature that grants school access to sign-in and notifies parents that they have received the kids or sign-out to notify that the kids have left their care.

The app is currently available free of charge to parents, schools and parents on Google Play Store. It is however available to Scholar transport companies at a certain charge.
