SweepSouth has raised R50 million to scale its services. The investment round was led by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and existing investors; Naspers Foundry, Smollan, Vumela, CRE VC and Black Coffee, a South African artist.

SweepSouth is an online platform that provides on-demand cleaning services in South Africa. It was founded in 2014 by Aisha Pandor and Alen RIbic to connect clients with domestic cleaners. Earlier in June this year, SweepSouth secured R30 million fund from Naspers Foundry, a subsidiary of Naspers Limited. This latest funding round was led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation which invested R14.5 million.

In 2017, SweepSouth raised an undisclosed amount in a Series A funding round, following the R10 million raised in 2016. These funds were used to expand operations across seven South Africa cities. The company also grew 26% since the investment made by Naspers Foundry in June 2019.

SweepSouth has tripled its customer base, bookings, and revenue this year. it has created about 15000 job opportunities for domestic workers and expands into new verticals beyond domestic services. The fund will be used to grow SweepSouth Shop, an online platform for buying a range of growth products. There is also a plan to launch SweepSouth Connect which offers plumbing, locksmiths, electrical, childcare and handyman services.
