TechQuest and IHS Nigeria have partnered to equip 60 teachers and 4500 students across three states in Nigeria with ICT skills.
TechQuest STEM Academy is a Nigeria-based digital literacy organization that supports over 11,000 youths across Nigeria while IHS is a subsidiary of IHS Towers — the largest mobile telecommunications infrastructure provider in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
The companies will leverage a community initiative ‘Mission – T program’ to equip the students and the teachers. The initiative aims to improve ICT education and empower schools and communities across the country.
Mission – T plans to improve the STEM narrative, boost interest and participation in STEM fields across the country. It will run through 45 schools in Oyo, Rivers and Kano states.

According to Cima Sholotan, IHS Nigeria Corporate Social Responsibility Senior Manager, the program aligns with IHS Towers’ four sustainability pillars; Ethics, People, Environment and Education. Sholotan noted that IHS Nigeria believes they are creating sustainable opportunities through empowering communities and promoting ICT education.
Charles Emembolu, the Director and Cofounder of the TechQuest STEM Academy said Mission – T’s program aligns with the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4). It focuses on integrating locally designed STEM content and equipment with government engagement.
TechQuest STEM Academy will implement the program while IHS Nigeria will fund the design, development, and delivery of ICT curriculums, alongside textbooks, workbooks, and academic videos. The company will also design the interactive portal and a mobile app.
