Big news! South Africa’s Esus Farm and Injini and Ghana’s Satelligence have been selected to pitch at World Bank’s Agricultural Innovation Challenge. The three startups will join other participants from across the world to pitch at the virtual event happening today. 

Have you heard? MEST has released the lists of finalist countries selected for its 2020 MEST Africa Challenge. The 83 startups selected from nine countries will pitch for a chance to win up to $50,0000 at the MEST Africa Summit in Accra, Ghana.

Next, Shezlong, a mental healthtech startup based in Egypt has secured an undisclosed funding. They will leverage the funding to deep its offerings and further expand across the MENA region. 

Also, Delivery Addis, an online food delivery startup based in Ethiopia has secured further funding from RENEW and Impact Angel Network. The startup will leverage the funding to boost their capacity and grow its market share.

Finally, Safaricom has temporarily closed down its shops across Nairobi and Mombasa, Kenya. The telco seized operations in the select shops to allow fumigation and sanitization of the shops.
