Mastercard and FASTA launched FASTACard, the first virtual credit card in South Africa. FASTA cardholders have a 16-digit card number, security code and expiration date to process payment. It can serve as for in-store purchases for Masterpass-enabled payment services.
Next, on the Big 5, the City of Johannesburg and Tshimologong Innovation Precinct have launched the Smart City Innovation Challenge. The selected tech startups will each receive up to R100000 for product prototype and mentorship.

In the US, Google Maps is testing a traffic light feature on Android devices. The user can now spot the location of traffic lights on the app. Google is testing this feature in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Moving on, Life Bank previously supplied blood and oxygen to hospitals and clinics in Lagos, Abuja, and Portharcourt, It has now added Ibadan, the third most populous city in Nigeria to its supply chain.
