First, TradeDepot, a Nigeria-based e-commerce startup has raised $10 million in a funding round led by Partech. The funds will be used to provide a range of financial services and credit offerings to retailers. 

Next, on the Big 5, Moroccan fintech startup, OnePay has raised $409,000 from MITC Capital’s Maroc Numeric Fund II. The funds will be used to scale its local operations in Morocco. 

Then, we learnt that Avio Health, in partnership with the Western Cape Health Department, South Africa has developed a WhatsApp Chatbot. It is for vulnerable patients to confirm existing appointments with doctors and order medicines at home, rather than wait in long queues.

Similarly, Vodacom Business has partnered with Cloudflare to improve its client’s cybersecurity in South Africa. The leading supplier of telecommunications, infrastructure and enterprise software provider is doing this to protect its clients from online threats and to secure their trust.

Finally, Safaricom also joined forces with Aviat Networks to facilitate 5G launch in rural communities in Kenya. Aviat will provide the spectrum equipment that can deliver up to 10 Gbps network coverage over long distances.
