Big news! Uber has unveiled Uber Cash in Africa leveraging Flutterwave integration. This module will allow its users to pay for their rides through the mobile wallet.  

Also, East Africa Fruits, an Agritech startup based in Tanzania secured $3.1 million Series A funding. The startup plans to leverage the funding to grow its database to 10,000 farmers and 15,000 businesses.

Next, Nigeria’s National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has unveiled the 6th edition of its broadcast code. The new code puts a ban on exclusive contents for PayTV and video-on-demand platforms. Compelling the likes of Netflix, Africa Magic, iROKOtv, etc. to sub-license their content at price they will regulate. 

Also, Multichoice Group has signed a new deal with Amazon prime and Netflix to onboard them on DSTV.  This deal will allow DSTV to retain its subscribers in the competition with digital streaming services.

Finally, turlD, a fintech company based in South Africa, has secured an undisclosed funding. The funding will be used to scale its offerings in the market.
