Big news! PayGo an energy startup company based in Kenya is expanding to Asia. The startup is leveraging its partnership with the Japanese company, Saisan to foster cross border operations to Vietnam and Bangladesh.

Next, a fintech company, Chipper Cash has secured $13.8 million series A funding. The startup will leverage the funding to expand its staff database globally.

Still, on fintechs, South Africa-based fintech company, LifeCheq has secured a funding round from Futuregrowth Asset Management. The funding will be used to scale its offerings to customers.

Also, Kenya has revealed its stance on digital taxing. The East African country is finalizing plans that will enable it to tax digital platforms like fintechs, Google, and Netflix. The affected companies will pay a 1.5% tax on revenues generated in the country.

Finally, WhatsApp has unveiled an in-app digital payment service. The service will allow users access to perform payment transactions without leaving the app.
