Guess What? The third edition of the MEST Africa is here! The annual MEST Africa challenge aims to award its winners with $50000 equity investment. It is open to startups across, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Senegal, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast and Tanzania. Apply here

There is also news that Kenyan Association of Manufactures (KAM) has launched an online directory. This initiative will be a means for manufacturers to upload locally made goods and allow citizens shop online.

Did you hear? MTN Cameroon has suspended payment of money transfer fees on its mobile money services. This move is one of the telco’s plan to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Also, Tech media company Techpoint has announced nominees for the maiden edition of its Techpoint Awards for Nigerian Startup. The award ceremony aligns with its Techpoint Build 2020 and startups like, Farmcrowdy, GIGL, Forloop, Gokada, etc. made the list.

Finally, Heetch, a ride-hailing startup based in Cameroon has halted its operations temporarily. This is also in a bid for the startup to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
