Drum roll! In a bid to show respect to global health workers fighting the pandemic, Google is honoring them with doodles. The doodle celebration will run for two weeks, cutting across a range of workers.   

Next, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is set to repurpose HIV testing equipment to fast track COVID-19 testing. This process will help boost the number of tests performed in the country.

Also, Beat Drone, a startup that leverages drones to spray farms, is aiming to help a Nigerian state combat COVID-19. The startup will help by using its drone to spray disinfectants across the state.  

Did you hear? XENO, an online investment advisory startup based in Uganda has secured $150,000 pre-seed funding. The startup will leverage the funding to scale its growth.

Finally, Facebook has launched an online gaming mobile app. The app’s initial launch date was June 2020 but was moved up due to circumstances. The new app will rival Amazon’s Twitch, YouTube and Microsoft mixer services.
