Drum roll! The South African Department of Small Business Development is planning to set up a Debt Relief Fund. The fund will be a means to assist SMEs from existing debts and repayments the COVID-19 virus might slow down.  

Still on COVID-19 Pandemic, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is looking to go lenient on borrowers. The Apex bank negotiated with financial institutions in the country to go soft on borrowers within this period. CBK will also provide relief for borrowers on personal loan, SMEs and corporates.

Next, YouTube is reducing the quality of its videos for the next one month. This is in a bid to reduce traffic generated on streaming sites due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To this effect, YouTube users will view videos in standard definition.

Call! Applications has opened for the Africa Mobility Challenge. The Africa Mobility Initiative is hosting the challenge. It is open to startups in the transport ecosystem with solutions that can bridge mobility challenges in Africa. 

Finally, Pezesha, A fintech startup based in Kenya has emerged the winner of CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa 2020 boot camp. The platform emerged winner after competing with twelve other companies.
