Brace up Techies you’ve done well! The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics has revealed that the country’s ICT sector contributed N2.57 trillion to its GDP in Q4 2019. The ICT sectors contribution stood at 13.12%, representing a 22.20% increase from Q2 2019.
Next, Econet Global has revealed its plans to bid for the Ethiopian Telecommunications license. The Strive Masiyiwa owned telco will join the likes of MTN and Vodacom in bidding for the license.

Finally, South Africa-based fintech platform Jumo has secured $55 million in debt and equity funding. The company plans to utilize the funding to expand to new markets in Africa and Asia.
