Big news! GSMA (The GSM Association) has opened applications for Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital Inclusion. The fund aims to support Sub-Sharan and Asian based startups with up to £250,000 equity-free grants.  

Next, a Senegalese laboratory is using its AIDS and Ebola experience to develop a $1 COVID-19 testing kit. The affordable kit will help in making way for rapid COVID-19 testing.

Also, aSurveyor, a South African based startup has launched a mobile app Ukweli. The platform will leverage the app to aid agro-traders in collecting and analyzing information about their products, which they will later share with customers.

We also have news that Twiga Foods has partnered Jumia. The deal is beneficial as it will allow Jumia to deliver fresh and processed foods to Twiga Foods’ consumers. 

Finally, StarTimes Kenya has launched StarTimes GO, an online shopping platform. The platform will grant customers the opportunity to shop via their television.
